How to Prepare Your Request for MPRE Test Accommodations
Before preparing your MPRE accommodations request, you are encouraged to download and review the Guidelines for Medical Documentation.
You are also encouraged to review the Pearson VUE Comfort Aid List. Medical aids, medications, and devices included on this list do not require preapproval from NCBE and will be allowed into the testing room after visual inspection by testing center staff.
Requests for MPRE test accommodations should be submitted using the online MPRE test accommodations application in your NCBE Account.
- To submit your request, log in to your NCBE Account, and follow the instructions provided.
- All supporting materials should be uploaded as part of your online request. Please note that only .pdf, .jpg, .tif, and .png files may be uploaded; other file types, such as .doc and .txt, will not be accepted and must be converted before uploading. The maximum file size is 10mb each.
- To ensure that you submit a complete request for accommodations, include the following four components.
Four Components of a Complete Request
Applicant Information
You will be asked about the history of your impairment(s) and current functional limitations that would affect your ability to take the MPRE under standard testing conditions.
You will be asked to describe all medication, devices, auxiliary aids, or strategies you ordinarily use to ameliorate the functional impact of your impairment(s) and their effectiveness.
Please note that you can upload only .pdf, .jpg, .tif, and .png files; other file types, such as .doc and .txt, will not be accepted and must be converted before uploading. The maximum file size is 10mb.
Medical Documentation
You will be asked to provide current and relevant medical documentation from a qualified professional establishing the nature and existence of your disability, your current functional limitations, and your need for the specific accommodation(s) requested.
NCBE provides Guidelines for Medical Documentation to assist applicants and their professionals in demonstrating the need for accommodations on the MPRE. We recommend that you provide your doctor or other qualified professional with a copy of the Guidelines applicable to your impairment.

Proof of Past Accommodations
You will be asked to provide proof of past accommodations from all testing agencies and educational institutions that have granted you accommodations.
- This may be in the form of a copy of a letter or other document (on official letterhead) that you received from the testing agency or school listing the accommodations granted and the test date or academic year.
- Alternatively, you may have the testing agency or school complete a Certification of Accommodations History Form and return it to you to include in your online request.
Standardized Test Score Reports
If you are requesting extended testing time for the MPRE, you will be asked to provide score reports for all standardized tests (e.g., LSAT, SAT, ACT, GRE) previously taken, with or without accommodations. You may submit screenshots of online versions of score reports for this purpose. The following contact information is provided to assist you in requesting score reports:

If you have questions about how to submit your request, you may contact us by email at mpre.ada@ncbex.org.
After you submit your request, a Request Summary will be available in the MPRE Test Accommodations section of your NCBE Account. It will also be posted to your NCBE Account File Cabinet. The Request Summary will show your administration preferences, requested accommodations, and responses, and will list the names and sizes of all included files. Please retain this document for your records. If you do not receive a Request Summary within one business day, please contact NCBE to confirm that your request was received.
NCBE does not return documentation. You should keep a copy of everything you submit because you will not be able to view your uploaded documents after you submit your request. For this reason, we encourage you to use descriptive names that reflect the file content.
